Choo-Kien Kua was born and raised in Calgary Alberta. He has played in various bands that have recorded and toured albums including an independent release of a solo project that toured Germany. In 2007 he moved to Vancouver to attend Emily Carr University of Art and Design to study Fine Arts. Since coming to Emily Carr he has experimented with Printmaking, Digital Media, Sculpture, Drawing and Painting. Choo-Kien has been consistently exhibiting his work during his time at University, as well as completing a mural for the BC Children's Hospital and an internship at Blanket Gallery. He is currently a Fourth Year student who is playing in a band, involved in a community project called St. George's Blueway and interning at 221a artist run center to help produce their upcoming catalogue.
